It's what a diner should be. We were a party of four for breakfast and everyone enjoyed their food and the atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and the food is excellent. The service was really fast. The prices are very reasonable. We waited just a few minutes for table on Sunday. We will be back.

My most favorite thing about this place is that it's Mom and pop's place. It's not a huge place. There is parking on the side of the building. The customer service was great! I hope this place stays open for so many more years. This place will definitely be a place we return to every time we go to Connecticut. The food tastes like it's being cooked at home. Which is great!

Nearly 100 year old dining experience. Great history laden diner going back to 1931 when it was shipped to West Hartford, Connecticut. It was run by a family for many years afterwards. It has been kept in original clean historical condition for all these years while the city continued to grow and modernize around it. Beautiful original decor with original cast iron counter stools, tile floors and real wood everywhere. Cozy decor, but as with old diners, it is small with 6 cubical tables and a dozen counter stools. Great competitively priced breakfasts, well made. The free parking is available next to the diner, but is limited. Note: Parking area shows as a tow-away zone, but is not, as the diner rents space here, as well. Very clean restrooms, still in original look of 1931. Just beautiful. Does not have a ramp for access.

My husband and I went here for a brunch date with his mom and our son and we love it! Besides the food being excellent( they know how to season). The diner is soooo nostalgic, gave you a small glimpse of what a diner looked liked in early/mid 1930s. Had to take a few pictures, set up was authentic, staff was friendly. We plan on coming back for another date. Highly recommend this place .

While visiting Connecticut for an engagement party, my husband and I stumbled upon Quaker Diner, and it was everything we didn’t know we were missing. Living in Philadelphia, we’ve often lamented the lack of truly charming diners, but Quaker Diner filled that void and more. From the moment we stepped in, the ambience transported us—it was cozy, warm, and alive with the perfect diner symphony: the clamoring of dishes, the sizzling of eggs on the griddle, and the nostalgic strum of Neil Young playing in the background. Our servers, Jocelyn and Amelia, made the experience even more memorable. Jocelyn, sweet and attentive, was being introduced to Bob Dylan by Amelia—a conversation that added an intimate, authentic touch to the atmosphere. The food was classic and comforting, just like the setting, but it was the sense of community and home that stood out. Quaker Diner isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a place to connect, relax, and soak in the simple joys of life. Thank you, Jocelyn and Amelia, for your kindness—you made our visit unforgettable. We’ll be thinking of this gem next time we’re yearning for that perfect diner experience back home in Philly.

Been here twice and both visits were excellent. The pancakes are tastier than most I’ve had. The home-fries are seasoned nicely and the perfect size. Chili cheddar omelet is super yummy on a cold day. Ambiance is unique, authentic to the time period built including music, which is really great. Love diners and this one ticks all the boxes. Will be back often!
